Mitch Biba
Mitch Biba, lead trumpet in River Cities
Jazz, although versed in classical styles, is best known for his jazz
and big band lead trumpet playing. His experience performing with
groups throughout the United States includes the Fox Valley's Big Band
Reunion and fifteen years with Milwaukee's Jazz Express as well as other
blues and big bands and noted performers such as Frankie Valli and Bobby
Vinton. He is founder and leader of River Cities Jazz, one of
Wisconsin's newest and most exciting big band jazz ensembles.
As a freelance performer, guest artist and
clinician, Mitch has worked with university, high school and junior high
groups. He has made several live and studio recordings that
include River Cities Jazz's CD, which he produced, and Jazz Express's
debut CD. He currently has one recording project with his jazz
quartet in process.
A member of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG)
and International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE), Mitch holds
degrees from Lawrence University and Marquette University.
